Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl

Thomas is a student of the coordinator class. His behavior with Ash, Dawn, Brock, and friends was very rude and stubborn at the beginning. He didn't support Dawn when she was trying to learn a combo move. He was always troubling Dawn's Piplup. But at last, after seeing Dawn creating a new combo move with the help of her Pokémon, he finally appreciated her by cheering for their struggle. Also, because of what he said, Dawn got an idea for her new combo move, and with Thomas's help, she successfully pulled it off. When Thomas saw the move working successfully, he got happy, excited, and he hugged Piplup in excitement.

Though he wanted to be Piplup's friend, he teased him, although he didn't knew how to say that. And so, he started troubling Piplup. They became friends at last.
