Mega Mewtwo Y, the first Mega Evolved Pokémon revealed.
Mega Stones (メガストーン, Mega Sutōn?) are special stones that allow certain Pokémon to reach their Mega Evolution form.
Certain Pokémon will be able to Mega Evolve while holding the respective Mega Stone or, in Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!, having the respective Mega Stone present in the Bag. However, the Pokémon will revert back to their pre-Mega-Evolved form after the battle or when the Pokémon faints. Rayquaza is the only Pokémon that doesn't require a Mega Stone to evolve.

Trivia[]
- Most Mega Stones have a "-ite" or "-nite" on the end of it preceded by the related Pokémon's name. For example, Lucario's Mega Stone is called "Lucarionite", Blaziken's Mega Stone is "Blazikenite". There are a few exceptions, however:
- Some Pokémon do not have their whole name in their Mega Stone. For example, Blastoise's Mega Stone is called "Blastoisinite", while Sableye's Mega Stone is called "Sablenite".
- Glalie is the only Pokémon whose Mega Stone, "Glalitite", neither contains its whole name nor contains "ite" or "nite" at the end but "tite" instead.
- So far, in the anime, there are twenty-one types of Mega Stones that have never appeared in the anime: Banettite, Beedrillite, Blazikenite, Cameruptite, Galladite, Gengarite, Heracronite, Latiasite, Latiosite, Lopunnite, Manectite, Mewtwonite X, Mewtwonite Y, Pidgeotite, Pinsirite, Salamencite, Scizorite, Sharpedonite, Slowbronite, Swampertite and Tyranitarite.
- According to Professor Sycamore of Kalos, Mega Stones are the results of Evolution stones being irradiated by the power of XerneasX or YveltalY, the Legendary Pokémon of life and destruction respectively.
