Traps are objects in Pokémon Battles in the core series. They appear on the opponent's side when a Pokémon uses a certain move, such as Toxic Spikes, so any Pokémon sent into battle from the opposing side is affected negatively by the trap, usually from losing HP. Moves like Defog and Tidy Up can get rid of traps.
