Cross is a character appearing in I Choose You!. He is the central antagonist of the movie. He serves the role of the rival for Ash in the movie.

Appearance

Cross has spiky orange hair with cross-shaped patch of hair (from that it his name) and brown eyes. He wears a white tank-top paired with black vest, red pants, and black boots.

Personality

Cross is shown to be cold, cruel, brash, disrespectful, arrogant and abusive who believes that strength is what makes a Pokémon trainer. He has no regards for weak Pokémon when he abandoned Charmander. He views himself as a hero and refuses to acknowledge otherwise, even going so far as attempting to kill Ash so he could steal the Rainbow Wing.

Cross softened up greatly after freeing his Lycanroc from Marshadow's control, becoming a more caring trainer.

Biography

Prior to the events of the movie, Cross once had Charmander in his team. Eventually, Cross sees Charmander as weak to him so he decides to abandon him. He made Charmander wait for him on a rock by lying to it that he'll come back for it.

• Cross abandoning his Charmander was similar to Damian releasing his Charmander from the first season of the Pokémon Anime. However, both these events are set in alternate timelines.
